WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
