It also did a good job of maneuvering between furniture and objects although it struggled a bit with stairs, and can crash into objects like bookcases.

We were impressed by the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's full, which greatly minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. Its dust bag is expected to last for about 30 loads, or around two months and you'll need to replace the filter once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates making it a great option for families with pets or children.

Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Created to eliminate one of the most difficult tasks off your hands, robot vacuum cleaners take care of all the hard work and get hardwood and carpeted floors free of everyday dirt. Certain robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled by an app on your smartphone, while others have mopping technology for bathrooms and kitchen flooring. They are a great option for busy families and they are becoming more affordable. But if you want top-tech features for your robotic vacuum cleaner, you'll have to spend a bit more.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is an all-in-one mopping and vacuum machine making it a great choice for those in a house with multiple floors. Its dual motors give it incredible cleaning power, and the vacuum's 0.6l dust bin can hold a lot of pet hair. The dustbin can be taken away and emptied without fuss which is beneficial since you'll have to do it often.

It's also easy to set it up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll have to install the Eufy Home app and follow the instructions to connect to your Wi-Fi network. After you've completed this the app will help you create an accurate map of your home. You can label rooms or divide rooms into sub-rooms (good for open-plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a specific time. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar mapping and scanning functions.

The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can turn on the vacuum cleaner or mop via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was a success in our test home.

As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It is prone to miss fur and small items and tends to bump things like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as other models we've tested, and the whirring noise can be distracting.

Roborock V3S Pro

This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we tested however, it does have all the basics. It has a huge enough dust bin that can hold plenty of dirt until it's empty, and its mop and vacuum system is great for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It's also very quiet, and we were able to sit and watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with the sound.

Our testers were very impressed with how easy the machine was to use and set up. They also appreciated its ability to eliminate all the mess from their floors. It was successful in cleaning pet hair, messes, and carpeting, but it was more difficult in getting rid of stains that were stubborn. The app was simple to use and easy to understand. They were able program the vacuum to clean regularly to minimize the amount of manual work. The only drawback is that it doesn't include any mapping technology or object avoidance, which means you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).

It's also extremely quiet and comes with a large dust bin which can hold a lot of dust before it needs to be emptied.

The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, however it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They liked how easy it was to set up and use, however they noted that its battery life was very short and it was unable to stay clear of some of the most difficult mess we've put it through.
