Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose.
