WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade item also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item upgrader kit and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
